This weekend I decided to compete in the Annual Woodville MX GP, now I've haven't lined up behind some start gates for a MX since the International MX at Taupo in 2006 so I was a little apprehensive as to how I would go.

We arrived at the track on Sunday morning to find it raining and it continued to rain all day making for very trying conditions, but the organisers did a good job of keeping everything in hand & kept the event running smoothly.

Race one I rounded the first turn inside the top ten and found myself just riding to stay up it was tough going and riders were going down everywhere, towards the end of the moto I had found a good rhythm and crossed the finish line in 9th position.

Race two I opted not to run goggles as I ended up taking them off on the 1st lap of the last moto anyway, well this was a big mistake as I got totally filled in on the first turn sending me to the back of the pack.

Once my eyes cleared I started moving through the field slowly picking riders off, many whom were on the ground, by race end I finished in 9th place again.

Race three they cancelled due to spectator safety, the bridge to the pits was flooded and proving to be a touch dangerous.

So they run the International Invitation race as the last race of the day, they made this race a long one which made it tough as the conditions were really tiring but I hung in there and it payed off as I finished up 9th in this race as well (what's up with the 9ths?).

Outright results put me in 8th position for day, definitely exceeding my expectations and I really enjoyed being back on a moto track again so all up a good weekend..
