This weekend we drove up to Raglan for their annual Raglan Rocx 4hour race, I teamed up with my fellow Yamaha rider and friend Paul Whibley for this event.

Meaning we would ride one bike between us and change over every couple of laps for the 4 hour race.

I let Paul do the start of the race as I hadn't had any time on his bike and wasn't very confident on being able to start it quick.

He didn't get the best of starts but made quick work of getting to the front, at the end of the first lap he handed the bike over to me and I set out for my first lap we had lost the lead while we were changing over so I set about getting the lead back.

Now I'm still riding the 2009 YZF were as Paul's running the new 2010 so jumping straight onto his bike and going fast was difficult to say the least, my arms pumped up straight away and I began to ride like a amateur, It took the best part of the first lap to come to grips with the bike and start riding properly, by the end of the first lap I had moved into the lead again and pulled a bit of a gap on 2nd before handing the bike back to Paul.

We figured we would be able to do two laps on a tank of gas before fuelling so Paul did 2 laps before handing the bike back to me, he'd done a couple of good fast laps and pulled a good buffer on 2nd so I didn't have so much pressure on me which was good.

I felt a lot better on the bike over the next couple of laps and was able to keep increasing our lead before handing the bike back to Paul to finish it off.

Paul came in 2mins before the finish flag was due to go out so he ended up doing another lap before coming in.

In the end we took the overall win with a lead of somewhere around 7 mins over 2nd place and had a lot of fun in the process the Raglan club had done a great job on the track and the weather was nice, I got some valuable time in the 2010 bike which I'll be moving to in the very near future so all in all a successful weekend.
